About Marie May
Marie May is the owner of May and Company and as a consultant and advisor, she brings more than fifteen years experience in developing and managing business solutions for businesses and non-profits.
Marie has her CHRP designation (Canadian Human Resource Professional) and is a source of information, ideas and insight. She helps businesses gain the knowledge and tools they need to support greater productivity. Her energy, commitment and proven ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues ensures success.
Marie’s passion for helping small and medium sized organizations to function as well as, if not better than, their often larger competitors, led her to take over the reigns of May and Company when its founder, Marilyn (Lyn) May, passed away in 2008.
Marie had worked alongside with Lyn for several years, and shared her commitment to loyally serving all of their clients’ needs. Today Marie continues to build on the traditions that Lyn established so solidly over 20 years ago.
About Lyn May
Marilyn (Lyn) May grew up in Toronto. As the youngest of six children, she learned how to work hard and fast to be able to keep up with her older siblings. She carried that drive and determination throughout her adult life.
In 1983 Lyn took a big leap to independence and M G May Financial Management Inc., now known as May and Company was born.
Bookkeeping and tax returns were the core business; however Lyn always tried to help her clients with all their issues. No matter what question they asked, Lyn would endeavour to connect them with an expert.
Lyn stood by family, friends and clients, and in turn, many stood by her. Clients considered their relationship with Lyn to be much more than business and this was demonstrated by their patient determination to stick with her while she struggled with health issues during her last few years. To them, it was important that they offer her the same high level of friendship and loyalty that Lyn had given to them over the years. Lyn passed away on September 13, 2008.
